FAQ
Got a question for us?
What can you create for me?
Any kind of software. From a daydream you have about the next big app, to updating systems you already have in place, if it can be thought up, we can build it.
Do I need a lot of money to make an app?
Custom development is expensive, there’s no getting away from it. That said, it really depends on your needs and the scope of the project. Many people recruit developers to work with them on a freelance or equity basis. However, this isn’t always the best fit depending on the project.
Have you actually done this before?
We’ve been doing this for over a decade!
Do I have to make a lot of decisions before coming to you, like whether I want a mobile or web app, or what language I want you to work in?
Absolutely not. At the earliest stage, all you need is an idea. Part of the service we provide is making recommendations as to what we think the best approach is. We want to balance budget, turnaround, convenience and quality in the best way possible.
How much experience do I need to have in order to work with you?
None! The only responsibility we will ask of you is telling us what you want, and what you think, during the project. As the client, you are the ultimate decision-maker.
How long will it take to create an app or a website?
It really depends on the scope. Something static or simple will take less time, whereas more customization means more hours. When you get in touch with us, we can give you a rough timeline, which will grow more and more specific as we learn more about your expectations.
Is maintenance and bug resolution included in your prices?
All of our projects are given six months free bug resolution and maintenance for problems arising from our own code.
How responsive is your team to feedback?
Extremely. The ultimate objective of our work is always to build a product that you, our client, feel will help solve whatever problems you come to us with. We use Agile methodology, a project management approach, that prioritizes real-time evolution, incorporating feedback.
Tech always moves so fast. Doesn’t it make less sense to purchase custom software when it might be outdated really quickly?
Surprisingly, it’s the opposite. Custom software is scalable for future industry developments. These updates will always cost a lot less to keep you relevant as time goes by, because the foundation of a robust system is already in place.
Where can I learn more about your team and their experience?
Check out our About Us page to ogle at our awkward headshots and official titles, or feel free to reach out for more concrete information. We’re happy to provide CVs upon request.
Where can I find impartial reviews of your service?
A highly regarded independent review service, Clutch, has our company listed. Our profile is available here!
Do you outsource any of your development or other roles?
No. All of our development is completed in-house at our downtown Vancouver office. Our creative and management teams are also at the same HQ.
Where is your office located? Do you accept clients who can only work remotely?
We are right in the heart of downtown Vancouver, close to the waterfront. We are more than happy to accept clients who can only work remotely. Expectations with regard to communication are negotiated so that we’re able to optimize remote project management.
What is your testing protocol?
Regardless of any internal testing procedures you may have, our developers test all of our products before release. We pride ourselves on resolving issues ahead of time.
Do you provide services concurrent to software development?
We do! Synic Creative Marketing handles all forms of branding, digital and physical marketing services. Feel free to read more here.
I have a really great idea for an app or software product! What’s the best way to get started?
The last thing we would want to do is take your money and work on an idea that has yet to be tested. We always recommend doing market research on viability before making a sizeable investment in software development.
What are your prices, but actually?
We know it’s frustrating when you can’t just find clear numbers to size up. Unfortunately in software, that’s the name of the game, as a project’s scope really determines the eventual cost. However, we’ve developed a system so that you can find an estimated cost range before you reach out. It’s available here.
